The core careers programme we deliver is designed for you by all of us in LSE Careers. Open to all students at LSE, it provides opportunities to learn, practice, and develop skillsets for applying for opportunities and succeeding in your future careers, facilitated by members of our team and supported by alumni and employers.

Application essentials

Ensure you’re ready to apply for internships, jobs, and more through these seminars covering CVs, cover letters, and all the essentials about submitting applications.

 

Skills sessions delivered by employers

Seminars and workshops led by employers to provide insights into and commercial awareness about their industry and operations, help enhance applications, improve interview skills and more.

 

Interviews and assessment

Sessions covering what to expect in the interview process, how to prepare and succeed, as well as different formats and types of interview and assessment centre activities you may face across the recruitment process.

 

Further study and PhDs

A range of workshops and events for current PhD and research students at LSE, as well as seminars for current undergraduate and postgraduates considering pursuing a PhD in the future.

International careers

Seminars supporting the programmes LSE Careers deliver about working in different areas across the globe. 

 

Sectors and themed events

Events programmes which are part of themed career weeks showcasing particular sectors or areas of employment. This includes Discover International Development happening throughout the year, Public Sector and Policy Events Programme (weeks 4 and 5 of MT) and Careers in Creative Industries and Political Risk, Conflict and Security themed weeks in LT.

 

Careers and professional development skills

Focusing on skills and techniques you can take to the workplace, these sessions cover topics like delivering presentations, negotiation, and public speaking, as well as how to make the most of networking and LinkedIn.

 

Events from our Volunteer Centre

Seminars and workshops delivered by the LSE Volunteer Centre to promote and highlight the value in volunteering whilst at LSE, and the development opportunities it can offer you.
