Digital Skills Tutor
Part-time Vacancy for 2022/23 Academic Year (new and continuing students only)

The Digital Skills Lab are recruiting tutors for the 2022/23 academic year. Working as part of a team, tutors will deliver digital skills training workshops, support drop-in sessions, and proctor professional certification exams for students and staff at the LSE.
Tutors will support learners working through task-based projects during the practical workshops that take place both online and in person. Workshops are currently delivered online via Teams, in person training will resume on campus in accordance with government guidelines.
Applicants must have excellent communication skills and previous experience in teaching or tutoring is essential. Some experience with Excel is essential; in-depth knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint or HTML and CSS is desirable. Applicants with strong teaching or tutoring skills who lack prior in-depth technical knowledge are still encouraged to apply, as we will provide all successful candidates with technical training prior to starting work. Please note that hours of work will need to be flexible and may include some evening and weekend work.

Part-time Opportunity: Digital Skills Trainer - NVivo
- £24.16 - £29.10 / hour (depending on experience)
- This is a fixed term contract until 31 July 2023 (possible extension to 31 July 2024)

The Digital Skills Lab is seeking an experienced trainer to deliver effective and engaging technical training to LSE students and staff both online and in person. Workshops are currently delivered online via Zoom and in person training takes place on campus in accordance with government guidelines. Each workshop will last between 1 to 3 hours and will have up to 16 participants. Trainers will be expected to work between 5 to 10 hours per week.
The successful candidate will have experience in delivering training in NVivo and be able to re-purpose existing learning content to deliver short, high-quality training courses. Experience of any of the following technologies listed is also desirable:
- Python, R, SPSS, SQL, Stata, Tableau, Git/GitHub, LaTeX, MatLab
- Web scraping
- Machine Learning techniques
- Database design and SQL
- Text Analysis
- Database design and SQL
- Text Analysis
- Markdown , particularly R Markdown
