Contacting the Student Services Centre

Find out the different ways to contact the Student Services Centre.

There are three ways you can contact the Student Services Centre (SSC):

You can check the SSC counter services opening hours and Live Chat availability on the SSC webpage. 

To contact the Disability and Wellbeing Service and the Counselling Service, please continue to email the teams directly.

If you are a current staff member, you can access staff contacts through the staff webpages

Please make sure you are aware of the Covid secure measures that are in place across LSE before you visit campus.  

Live Chat

Who can I chat to?

Our Student Services Centre team will be available to answer your questions Monday through Friday, 10am – 4pm (UK Time). Please note that the service is not available during UK public holidays and school closures. Check the SSC page for advance notice of closures. 

During the Summer Exam period, Live Chat will only run at the following times:

  • 9:30 - 10:30 am
  • 1:30 - 2:30 pm

If you have any questions during the exam period, that you initially check the web pages for the team you wish to speak to and then either complete the SSC enquiry form or come in-person to the SSC.

What can I ask about?

Our live chat staff will attempt to answer your queries where possible. It may be necessary to pass your query on to the relevant team or direct you to fill out an enquiry form. If you have made a request via our enquiry form for verification letters or transcripts, please wait five working days before contacting us. These cases are dealt with by the respective teams and our live chat operators are unable to expedite cases beyond that timeframe.

We are unable to answer queries regarding Technical Support or Fees, Income and Credit Control. Please contact these divisions directly.

How do I access it? 

You can chat to us by clicking on the chatbox.You will be asked to enter your name, surname, email, LSE ID number and subject. 

Submit an Enquiry Form

Before submitting an enquiry, you may like to do a general Google search for what you are looking for. Most of the information and processes are outlined on our webpages. You can also browse the frequently asked questions and how to guides. 

If you are unable to find the answer to your question, you can fill out an enquiry form in three simple steps:

1. Click on the link to the enquiry form

You can access the enquiry form from the SSC webpages. You will be asked to enter your student ID and password.

2. Select the relevant team

If you are not sure which team is responsible, you can select the 'I don't know' option.

3. Write your question

Please provide a short description of your enquiry, attach any supporting documents and submit your enquiry.

Please allow 3-5 working days for the relevant team to respond. You will not be able to track your enquiry but a member of the team will respond in due course. 

Any enquiry you submit (and any subsequent reply) will be associated with your student record and therefore will improve our service to you if you need to contact our teams again.

If you wish to contact the SSC and you do not have a student or applicant ID

If you are new to LSE or do not have a student or applicant record you will still be able to submit an enquiry to the Student Services Centre through our external form.
