Michaelmas Teaching Spaces

The School has provided some example pictures of the teaching spaces that will be available in the Michaelmas Term.

Classroom spaces

Class 1

Above is a teacher’s view of a typical sized classroom (with a physically distanced capacity of 15-20 students), that shows the 2m separation between all students. This photograph shows 6 rows, and students at the back of the class may be up to 11m from the front wall.

Above is a wide teacher’s view of a typical sized classroom (with a physical distanced capacity of 15-20 students), that shows the 2m separation between all students. Things to note include:

  • There are six rows of desks, and students on the farthest row may be up to 11m from the front wall.

  • The door at the back of the room is marked Exit Only in green and white, while (unshown) the door at the front of the room is marked No Exit in red and white. This is to facilitate the flow of students between classes.

Above is a view of the teacher’s corridor that has been incorporated into all classroom physically distanced layouts. Note that the door at the front of the room is marked No Exit in red and white. A second door in the classroom will be marked Exit Only in green and white. This is to facilitate the flow of students between classes. 

 

Lecture theatre spaces

Above is view of a physically distanced lecture theatre. Things to note include:

  • Viable seats are indicated by an attached label.  These spacings observe the 2m distancing rules.

  • Only alternate rows are being used, to facilitate 2m distancing rules. Non-viable rows are not cordoned off or labelled in any way.

  • Microphones have been installed at all viable seats to facilitate teacher/peer interactions (allowing this room to also be used for a class/seminar sessions)

Above is a view of another physically distanced lecture theatre. Things to note include:

  • The table layout observes 2m separation rules.

  • Each table comes with a microphone installed to facilitate teacher/peer interactions, although at the cost of reduced desk space.
