Professor David Webb is Pro-Director for Planning & Resources, and Professor of Finance with research interests in financial economics and monetary theory, specifically the analysis of bankruptcy and financial contracts.
David has served LSE for many years and became Head of Department for the Department of Finance in 2009. He joined the Directorate in September 2014 as Pro-Director of Planning & Resources, and subsequently took on the additional responsibility of Chief Financial Officer for the School.
The development of LSE 2030 marks an exciting time for the School, with major implications for our financial planning and future fundraising requirements. David’s appointment as Pro-Director was due to end in August 2019, but to fully support the School in delivering the new strategy, David will remain in the Pro-Director role for an additional year to August 2020, with Mike Ferguson taking on the duties of Chief Financial Officer over the year ahead. The recruitment for the new Pro-Director is underway and further information will be available in due course.
