About me

Mark is LSE's strategic lead on all aspects of understanding and enhancing students' experiences, across the whole School. This broad remit includes our work on community, communications, students' voices and feedback, data, analysis and evaluation, inclusion, access and participation, mental health and wellbeing, the LSE Offer, and menu of opportunities.

Mark chairs the Student Experience Sub-Committee and co-chairs the Student Communities Steering group with the SU General Secretary. Based in the Directorate, he is the School's lead contact with the Students' Union.

Prior to coming to LSE, Mark has had an academic career that also included leading professional services teams. He started at Royal Holloway where he created a new department in the 1990s before moving to the University of Leicester as Professor of Spanish and Head of the School of Modern Languages. More recently he was Associate Provost at Regent’s University London leading on student experience and educational development.
