If you are a line manager looking to get the best out of the Career Development Review process for your professional services staff, you have come to the right place.
As an LSE people manager, Career Development Reviews or CDRs are an essential part of the process of you managing your team. We've developed an eLearning course which takes you through what a CDR is, what it involves and how to ensure you give your team supportive and effective CDRs.
The course is designed to take you chronologically through each aspect of the CDR process, so you do not need to complete the whole course, but rather dip in and out of the sections that are relevant at any given time of year.
If you wish to complete it as a whole course, it will take 60 - 90 minutes and will save your progress, so it does not have to be completed in one sitting.
The modules on the course are:
- What is a CDR?
- What does a CDR involve?
- Setting objectives
- Holding supportive one-to-ones
- Supporting developmental discussions
- Review meetings
If you are a new manager, we would recommend you go through the whole course. If you are a more experienced manager, we would suggest that you access the sections of the course to support each step of the process across the year. This will help you make the most of the CDR process for you and your team members.
The course can be accessed on the Astute Platform. It will show under self-enrol courses toward the bottom of the page.
