LSE Students' Union General Secretary 

James-

James is the General Secretary of LSE Students’ Union (LSESU). As the elected representative of the student body at LSE, the General Secretary leads LSE Students’ Union, sits as Chair of the Trustee Board and Executive Committee, and is a an ex-officio member of Council. In addition to Council, James is a member of various senior committees of the School, including Academic Board, Ethics Committee, Finance and Estates Committee, Governance Committee, and Investments Sub-Committee.

James joined the Department of Mathematics at LSE in 2021 to study BSc Mathematics and Economics. During his time at LSE, James was the President of LSESU Raising and Giving (RAG), otherwise known as the fundraising and charity arm of LSESU. As RAG President, James worked closely with the Sustainable Futures Society to establish the LSESU Charity Shop, a permanent fixture on Portugal Street on campus, and launched the LSE Fashion Show in partnership with LSE’s Athletics Union. Across 2022/23, LSESU RAG raised £50,000 for their charity partners. In 2023, James was awarded The John Ying Wah Gibson Citizenship Prize, an award the Department of Mathematics grants to students of good academic achievement who demonstrate strong service to society and the LSE Community.
