Students and staff voices are essential to making LSE an inclusive environment that works for all members of the School community. To support this, student representation at Departmental Teaching Committees was introduced in Lent Term 2018, alongside a range of ongoing engagement opportunities for students to share their views and use their voices at local and School-wide levels.
In order to continue this work, colleagues in LSESU, departments and professional services are reviewing the current operation of Student Staff Liaison Committees to enhance the system and create a more coordinated approach to managing student representation across the School.
A revised student training programme is already being developed and the team is collecting examples of good practice at LSE alongside sector benchmarking. Recommendations will be made to the TEF Strategy Group in June and changes implemented from 2018/19, if approved.
If you have examples of good practice, experiences you would like to share, or you would like to get involved in the project, please contact Matt Rowley, Project Lead, for more information.
