Student Roles in Student Recruitment and Study Abroad

Student Recruitment and Study Abroad (SRSA) informs the development of LSE’s academic offering, delivers a world-class study abroad programme and provides LSE students with high-quality mobility experiences. It seeks to ensure that LSE is the first choice for those who seek a quality education in the social sciences.

SRSA is responsible for the development and delivery of a range of promotional activities and provides information to prospective LSE students in the UK and around the word. 

Becoming a part-time member of staff in SRSA will allow you to:

SRSA Office Assistants are essential to SRSA in providing a proactive and timely customer service to prospective students, answering their enquiries about studying at LSE and sharing their experiences.

What does the Office Assistant role involve?

• Responding to enquiries from prospective LSE students through our online enquiry system.
• Contributing to the delivery of in-person and virtual recruitment activities, such as undergraduate Open Days, campus tours, and webinars.
• Providing project-based administrative and research support.

Office Assistants are expected to work 10 hours per week, with working hours being flexible to external commitments and service level demand. 

Who can apply?

All full-time current LSE students are eligible to apply for the role. This includes students enrolled on undergraduate, study abroad (e.g. General Course, GO LSE exchange), postgraduate taught (e.g. Masters, diploma), and postgraduate research (e.g. MRes/PhD, MPhil/PhD) programmes at LSE. 

Applicants for this role should possess excellent communication skills, the ability to provide outstanding customer services, and a willingness to work both during and outside term times. Previous experience working in an office environment, ideally utilising a CRM system, and a good understanding of the UK higher education landscape would also be desirable.

Undergraduate Student Ambassadors play a key supporting role across LSE's Widening Participation and Student Recruitment events and activities.

What does the Student Ambassador role involve?

As a Student Ambassador, you'll be passionate about LSE and keen to share your experiences with young people, their parents/carers, teachers and advisors. There are various in-person and virtual roles that you can get involved in, including:

• supporting in the delivery of Widening Participation events including supervising and leading groups of school students and supporting presentations, discussions, and project work both on and off campus
• delivering campus tours
• working at LSE Open Days and other on-campus events
• supporting in the delivery of workshops and presentations
• representing LSE at off-campus events.

Postgraduate Student Ambassadors play a key supporting role across a variety of Student Recruitment events and activities.

What does the Postgraduate Student Ambassador role involve? 

As a Postgraduate Student Ambassador, you'll have the opportunity to promote LSE and graduate study opportunities to prospective postgraduate students from around the world. You’ll support the delivery of LSE’s student recruitment events and activities including the facilitation of several in person and online events for prospective students, in activities such as:  

• Answering prospective students’ questions through Unibuddy
• Acting as a panel member in online or in person Q&As
• Leading campus tours  
• Supporting the delivery of the LSE Virtual Graduate Open Events  

Who can apply?

Only current LSE postgraduate taught master's students are eligible to apply for the role. 

We're looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our Postgraduate Student Ambassador programme. If you're a Postgraduate Taught Master's student at LSE, we'd love to hear from you.  Previous experience with supporting student recruitment activities during your undergraduate studies is desirable but not essential, but a commitment to sharing your experience with other students is a must!

Study Abroad Content Creators provide relevant and topical content to promote the General Course and GO LSE exchange programmes.

What does the Study Abroad Content Creator role involve? 

As a Study Abroad Content Creator we will expect you to be eager to contribute content for both the SRSA team and the School. You will have the opportunity to share your Study Abroad experiences with a vast online audience via multiple LSE channels. You work will vary but is likely to include

• Writing blogs for the Students at LSE Blog.
  
• Creating videos for LSE social media channels.
• Supporting wider SRSA activities, including webinars and offer holder events.

Only current General Course or full-year GO LSE exchange programme are eligible to apply for this role.
