At the LSE Student Counselling Service we run a number of groups and workshops as we believe that working in groups can be an effective way of helping with a range of problems. In our view, being part of a group, sharing and tackling issues with others in a similar situation, can often be a highly effective way to address common difficulties. This page outlines some of the group and workshop options.
Workshops
Workshops are short-term, usually one-off, structured and agenda led. They focus on building skills and respond to the demands of life at university. We run a range of workshops throughout the year so keep an eye on this page for updates.
(If there is any issue you would like to see a workshop on which is not included on the list, do let us know. We are always keen to hear suggestions from students about what might be useful. Get in contact about workshop ideas via student counselling.
Below are the workshops we have arranged to run:

Look after yourself while you revise for exams
Exam revision brings with it a heavy workload and a lot of pressure. For many students, maintaining a healthy, balanced lifestyle while they are preparing for exams can be tricky! In this workshop with Dr Ohemaa Nkansa-Dwamena from the Counselling Service, we will consider the experience of revising for exams at LSE, including challenges around balancing revision with other work and your personal life.
You’ll explore ways to develop good habits around eating, sleeping, relaxing, socialising, and staying active in order to support your revision, and learn about how and where to find support to make the most of your time at LSE.
This workshop is for both undergraduate and postgraduate students Date: Friday 17 March Time: 13:00 - 14:00 Location: LSE Life (Workspace 2)
Review and learn from your LT experience
The Lent Term is a busy one; and before you know it, it’s over! Even if time flies, it can be very helpful to take stock of what you’ve learned and achieved along the way. During this workshop with Claire Barnes from the Student Counselling Service, you’ll have an opportunity to review your progress over the first term and consider the challenges you’ve faced. Just before a well-deserved Easter break, we’ll also think ahead to next term to anticipate future challenges and how to apply what you’ve learned so far—including how to manage your time better; balance study, work, and leisure; and cope with stress.
Date: Monday 20 March Time: 13:00 - 14:00 Location: LSE Life (Workspace 2)
