On 2 November 2021, we publicly launched Shaping the World, our Campaign for LSE 2030, declaring our intention to raise £350m in philanthropic support and 100,000 alumni volunteer hours.
We announced our Shaping the World Campaign with a 45-minute online launch event. Hosted by School Director Minouche Shafik and alumna and broadcaster Nisha Pillai, the event positioned that a fairer, stronger, more sustainable world needed the curious minds of our LSE community more than ever before. We were joined, live, by over 10,000 alumni, staff, students, friends and partners, and messages from our community flooded in from all corners of the world – Bahrain, Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, Ecuador, France, Greece, Iran, Nigeria, Pakistan, Ukraine and the US to name but a few.
As we made our Campaign ambitions public, we launched a film to share our vision and goals and explain how people could get involved. If you haven’t watched it yet, we’d encourage you to find five minutes to do so. Featuring students, staff, alumni and friends from around the world, it gives a flavour of our Campaign and the global challenges that we are committed to addressing. We are really proud that our Campaign and associated film were recently recognised with a prestigious CASE award.
Shaping the World is a Campaign for the whole of our School, our global community and for the world. Find out below how you can get involved.
Campaign impact
Working hand in hand with our ten-year strategy, LSE 2030, our Campaign is supporting LSE by helping to achieve some of our top priorities, such as:
You can see Campaign progress to date here.
How to get involved
- Spread the word – if you work in a department, please share our School Campaign with your alumni, friends and partners, and direct them to inspiring stories on our School Campaign pages.
- Share your impact – if you are a member of faculty, let us know how your research is shaping the world so that we can make sure that more of LSE’s wide-reaching impact is reflected in our Campaign communications.
- Share your ideas – we are always on the lookout for additional ways to engage former students in the life of the School. If you have any ideas about how volunteering could benefit your area of work, we would love to hear from you.
- Tell us how you are already involved – if your former students are already working with you and your student community – for example by coming into the School to give talks to current students, or providing informal mentoring – let us know so that we can recognise their and your roles within our School Campaign.
