The Academic Mentoring Learning Exchange Day offers a chance for colleagues across the School to come together, share experiences, and strengthen our collective approach to academic mentoring. With a range of mentoring models in place across departments, the day will acknowledge and build on this diversity while encouraging collaboration and reflection.
The aims of the event are to:
- Share experiences and spark dialogue, creating space for open conversations about what academic mentoring looks like in practice, the challenges we face, and what we can learn from each other.
- Showcase research and reflect on impact, highlighting current research on the role of academic mentoring in student success and considering its value for both students and staff in terms of learning, development, and support.
- Explore future directions, discussing how mentoring practices can evolve to meet the changing needs of students, and identifying tools, resources, and next steps to strengthen our approach across the university.
Whether you’re an experienced mentor or new to the role, this is an opportunity to connect with colleagues, share insights, and help shape the future of academic mentoring at our institution.
