Global Approaches To Generative AI in Higher Education 2026

In April 2026, a conference was co-hosted by LSE, King's College London and Peking University, China (PKU) on both LSE and KCL campuses in London. 

Following a successful first event in 2025, the follow-up on Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 April gathered over 100 university leaders, scholars and innovators to display research and evolving best practice on the applications of Generative AI in higher education. The theme for the conference was "the learning mind, cultivating wisdom and capability in an AI transformed world".

Global Approaches To Generative AI in Higher Education 2025

In April 2025, a conference was co-hosted by LSE and Peking University, China (PKU) on LSE campus. 

Under the theme of ‘Global Approaches to Generative AI in Higher Education’, the conference on Thursday 3 and Friday 4 April brought together university leaders, scholars and innovators to showcase cutting-edge research and share best practices on the applications of Generative AI in higher education, and opened with a welcome address from President Larry Kramer (LSE) and Vice-President Wang Bo (PKU). It also featured the launch of a new Student Manifesto for Assessment in the Age of AI authored by LSE students.
