What is LSE Revive?

Prioritise your wellbeing this summer with ‘LSE Revive’

take a few moments to reflect, prioritise your selfcare, reconnect with colleagues, and revive!

In these challenging times, it can be easier said than done to suggest we all take some time out for our own wellbeing. That’s where ‘LSE Revive’ can help!

This summer’s staff wellbeing programme focuses on selfcare.  We recognise the importance of making sure everyone has the time to prioritise their self-care, physically, mentally and emotionally. LSE Revive covers a selection of workshops and resources that will help to support taking a moment to reflect on recent experiences, and consider what would benefit your self-care and wellbeing, for both an immediate lift as well as helping you to make some practical and more meaningful changes for the better.

Take a few moments to reflect, prioritise your selfcare, reconnect with colleagues, and revive!

Here's a handy summary of what's going on:

Join the conversation with The LSE Tree

The LSE Tree is the new virtual space for staff from across the LSE community to get together and ‘not talk about work’ for a change! We're hoping that LSE Tree becomes a year-round resource for staff to discuss recipe swaps, boxset recommendations, fitness tips and much more. What's more, as part of 'LSE Revive' you can drop into one of our new virtual coffee mornings or virtual lunches and meet new faces from across our School. Interested? Just go to the LSE Tree page to join the conversation.

Pick up the pace with LSE Fitbit

We've created our own LSE – Fitbit community to make getting healthier and fitter as fun as possible.

It’s easy to join the LSE Fitbit community. If you already own a Fitbit device or are cunning enough to borrow one from a friend or family member you can use your own device to join, or you can choose to download the Fitbit App and use your smart phone to track your activity for free.

To get involved, simply download the Fitbit App for free and take a look here at why Fitbit is so effective and easy to use.

We’re also running our first ever LSE-Fitbit physical fitness challenge in August. Keep an eye on the webpage for more details!

Take some time to yourself with the 10 Minute Mind

For wellbeing at a different pace, challenge yourself and others to 21 days of mindfulness using our very successful partnership with The 10 Minute Mind – all in just 10 minutes a day.

Boost your mental health and resilience

It's quite natural to feel anxious or worried in these uncertain and challenging times. We've organised the following workships (courtesy of Staff Counselling) that you may find a helpful boost for your mental health and resilience:

Staying Connected and Emotional Resilience

Managing Anxiety in Uncertain Times

These workshops are in addition to the mental health resources that are already available. The School's staff counselling services can be contacted remotely to arrange a telephone appointment or to discuss any concerns you may have. Also, the School has introduced an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) until 31 March 2021; the EAP can be accessed 24/7 for support on all aspects of wellbeing, including personal finance and legal matters, counselling, health advice and more.

Read up on how to eat better

It can be all too easy to forget about nutrition when your daily routine has been disrupted, but a little preparation can go a long way to ensuring that this doesn't happen.

We've put together some hints and tips on how you can eat well in certain times.

Limber up with Body Balance and Body Conditioning

Back by popular demand, we're arranging more Body Balance classes to run throughout the rest of summer. A mixture of Yoga, Pilates and Tai-Chi, Body Balance will build your strength and flexibility, leaving you calm and centred for the rest of the day. Classes won’t be recorded and you don’t need to keep your camera or microphone on, so you can get involved from the privacy of your own home. Click here to book your place.

What's more, in August you can sample a new class - Body Conditioning! This 45 minute full body workout will help to tone and strengthen the legs, bums and tums, and at the same time giving plenty of options for all levels of fitness. The use of hand weights, bottles of water or cans can be used for added resistance but are not essential.  Click here to book your place.

We hope that you find ‘LSE Revive’ a welcomed wellbeing boost. Do let us know at Staffwellbeing@lse.ac.uk if you have any comments or if you experience any issues with accessing any of these resources.
