Who are we?
We are one of the three recognised trade unions at LSE. LSE UNISON Branch is made up of volunteer Professional Service Staff who act as officers and stewards. We are here to take the voice of staff to management and to facilitate positive change which is of benefit to all.
What do we do?
*Negotiate better pay and conditions for grades 1–5
*Provide advice and representation to members
*Campaign for a fairer, more inclusive workplace through committee involvement
What are we currently working on?
Winter Closure Dates Petition
We’ve launched a petition to extend winter closure to include 22 Dec and 2 Jan—ensuring a meaningful, well-deserved break. Sign our petition today and circulate to other colleagues!
Listening and Engagement Exercise on gendered facilities at LSE
Following the Supreme Court ruling on “biological sex,” the School is holding a Listening Exercise on facilities at LSE. We support Trans+ inclusive facilities and urge all staff to take part in the exercise to advocate for Trans+ inclusion. Find our information pack here and the full webpage to the School’s exercise can be found here.
Carers Leave Policy
The School has agreed to our request for a Carers Leave Policy. We’re awaiting the draft version and are calling for a separate category of paid carers leave. Join UNISON to help shape it.
