This year, LSE is taking part in the 15 Minute Challenge, an online team competition which will start on 14 August and run for a total of 6 weeks. As the name suggests, the 15 Minute Challenge is specially designed so that busy people can make fitness an enjoyable part of their everyday – helping to form a new long-term habit of daily exercise in the most easy, enjoyable and sustainable way.
What do I get out of it?
Developing and maintaining a habit of exercise can lead to:
- A stronger immune system
- Feeling more energetic throughout the day
- More upbeat mood
- Sleeping well
- Building better relationships and improved social interaction
There’s also the feelings of camaraderie you’ll get from supporting – and being supported by – your team-mates throughout every step of the Challenge. And, if all of that’s not enough, there will also be prizes for the most successful teams!
How does it work?
Taking part in the Challenge is pretty straightforward:
- Have a chat with colleagues to see who else would like to be involved - you can form a team of anywhere between 3 and 6 people.
- Decide who will be the team captain: this person can create a team by clicking on the link below and following the instructions on the right side of this page under 'How to create a team'. Please make sure that you have sought the agreement of the relevant budget holder for your department/division before creating a team.
- For those of you who aren't team captains, you can ask to join a team by following the instructions on the right side of the page under 'How to join a team'. Captains can also invite people to join their team once they have signed up to the platform.
