Introducing the Wellness Toolkit

understand and implement good practice approaches to wellness

At LSE, we aim to create and empower a supportive, inclusive and engaged community which achieves a healthy balance of work and personal wellbeing.

This wellness toolkit is designed primarily to help staff understand good practice approaches to a range of topics relating to wellness. What’s more, the toolkit can also be used as an explorative tool to support an individual’s journey to achieving and sustaining a better work-life balance, improved mental wellbeing and more optimal health as a whole. If you’re a line manager, this toolkit contains plenty of hints and tips for how you can encourage positive and proactive approaches to wellbeing within teams, as well as guidance for managing individual situations.

While all of the information contained within this toolkit is sourced from reputable organisations, it is up to the individual how they choose to use this information to complement their own personal wellness journey. In addition, this toolkit should not, and is not intended to, replace the role of line managers to check in on employees both informally and through one-to-ones etc. Click here for more about the role of the line manager.

This toolkit complements and supports the Wellbeing and Mental Health Policy for staff.

Further information about ways in which the School supports the wellbeing of staff can be found on the Staff Wellbeing webpages. You can also contact Staffwellbeing@lse.ac.uk if you have any questions, comments or suggestions about staff wellbeing resources in the School.

Please note

This toolkit assumes that individuals will take reasonable steps to maintain their general health and wellbeing. Whilst every effort has been made to ensure that this toolkit and related resources are up to date and in line with best practice, both staff and managers use this content at their own discretion. The advice, tools and guidance set out here do not and should not override independent medical information, such as from a GP or other medical professional.
