Johannes joined KKR in May 1999 and is a Senior Advisory Partner and the former Chairman and Head of KKR’s operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Prior to joining KKR, Johannes was a member of the Management Committee of Investcorp and jointly responsible for Investcorp's operations in Europe. From 1986 to 1991, he worked at Salomon Brothers, where he was a Vice President in the Mergers and Acquisitions departments in London and New York.
Johannes is currently a member of the Boards of Axel Springer SE, Coty Inc., Marshall Wace Ltd and Roompot/Landal. He is also the Chairman of Invest Europe for the 2024/2025 period.
Since 2023 Johannes Huth is President of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris. He is the chair of the Audit Committee and a member of Council at the London School of Economics. He is also a Trustee of the Staedel Museum in Frankfurt, the American Academy in Berlin, and a Stiftungsrat Stiftung "Hilfe fuer die bedrohte Tierwelt" at the Zoologische Gesellschaft Frankfurt. Additionally, he is on the Global Advisory Board of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a visiting fellow to Oxford University and a member of the Royal Society of the Arts. Johannes is an avid skier and cyclist.
He earned a BSc with Highest Honors from the London School of Economics and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
