Making Requests
You can request information about yourself by completing the Data Protection Form.
Send the completed form to the School’s Data Protection Officer at glpd.info.rights@lse.ac.uk. You will need to include:
- Scanned copy of any of the following proof of ID: LSE student card, staff card, passport, driving licence or UK birth certificate.
- If someone is applying on your behalf, please supply (in addition to evidence of your identity) a signed statement that authorises us to release the requested data to them. This can also be scanned.
The form can also be used to request that information about you is updated, changed or deleted or to restrict further processing of your data, to object to marketing and automated processing.
Once all the appropriate proof along with the form have been received, the School has one month from the date of receipt to respond with what information we have that meets your request. However, it may take longer depending on the complexity and number of the requests. If we will need more time to process your request, we will inform you as soon as possible.
Personal data processed by HESA
As specified in our fair processing information, we provide some data that we hold about students and staff in our organisation to the Higher Education Statistics Agency Ltd (HESA) (www.hesa.ac.uk). A subset of this data is included in the Heidi Plus database provided by HESA Services Ltd (HESA's wholly-owned subsidiary), to which we subscribe and which can be accessed by some of our staff who need the data for their work and have had appropriate training in information security.
Heidi Plus includes data relating to individuals who have undertaken higher education courses in the UK and staff working for higher education providers. Any data which we can access through Heidi Plus does not include names and identifiers but could potentially be identifiable data to a third party who already has other information about the individual. Access to this data is granted under strict contractual terms for specific purposes relating to research, administration and equal opportunities monitoring.
