Adjustments Guidance for Neurodivergent Staff

Many DAWN members have informed us that one of the principal obstacles they face to requesting adjustments from their managers is a lack of certainty about what they can ask for, and a fear of being perceived as unreasonable for making certain requests. This guide aims to offer members a list of accommodations that they might want to request from colleagues to help them feel comfortable and fully included in the workplace. We accept that this list is not exhaustive, and that every individual will have their own needs, but hope it gives you the confidence to request any such reasonable adjustments as you need.

Free hearing tests

If you have noticed that you are not hearing the way you used to or people are

getting frustrated by having to repeat themselves (it is easy to not realise that one’s hearing has reduced), or have a constant ‘ringing in your ears’  or are just curious to know what your hearing levels are, why not take a free hearing test?

FREE hearing test providers:

1.                  NHS direct

2.                  RNID (Royal National Institute for Deaf People) – online test

3.                  Hidden Hearing (in person or online)

4.                  Boots

5.                  M&S – who knew they did hearing and eye tests!

6.                  Specsavers (in person or online)

7.                  Hearing Care Partnership

8.                  Amplifon
