We are looking for LSE students to become CIVICA Ambassadors for the 2025-2026 academic year.
This is an excellent opportunity to represent the LSE student community at the CIVICA University Alliance, which is LSE's main engagement platform with European university partners.
CIVICA represents a European University alliance of ten leading universities specialising in the social sciences, humanities, business management and public policy. LSE has been a member of the alliance since 2019.
We are looking for students who have an international and collaborative outlook, who are willing to work as part of a cross-cultural team to promote CIVICA opportunities and acvities and to be the first point of contact to CIVICA for thir peers. The Ambassador network actively shapes CIVICA by initiating projects and participating in formal and informal alliance activities.
Activities you might take part in as a CIVICA Ambassador for LSE:
- Promoting CIVICA's mission, activities and events among the student community at LSE
- Proposing or contributing to new and existing student projects
- Act as the first point of contact for peers at LSE who are keen to know more about the CIVICA university alliance
- Participate in regular online meetings with other CIVICA Ambassadors and representatives
- Participate in an in-person workshop with all CIVICA Ambassadors
(likely to be in Warsaw, 27th-28th November 2025)
- Represent LSE at CIVICA's 'Sports and Culture Festival' in Poland, June 2026
Eligibity and Criteria
We are looking for students who are enthuiastic about cross-cultural collaboration and engagement with European unviersity partners and peers, and who can demonstrate good communication and team working skills.
Applicants should be:
- LSE students (undergraduate/postgraduate/PhD/ESR) enrolled full-time until the end of the academic year 2026
- Applicants can be of any age and studyig any degree programme at LSE
- Active in their community
- Excited about CIVICA and the opportunities available
- Keen to interact with peers across Europe
- Willing to travel for CIVICA events in Europe when necessary
Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the expected time commitment of the role?
The expected time commitment is between 10 - 15 hours a month. This can vary month to month, with some months requiring less committment.
- Will I be expected to travel?
CIVICA Ambassadors are expected to attend one in-person meeting a year, which will be hosted by a CIVICA university institution. CIVICA Ambassadors will be awarded a bursury to cover the costs associated with attending the meeting.
There may be other opportunities to attend in-person events and to represent CIVICA throughout the year. Previously, Ambassadors have also represented CIVICA at events such as the European Assembly in Strasbourg.
