About the CIVICA Multi-campus Course

LSE postgraduate students across all disciplines are invited to apply to the forthcoming CIVICA Multi-campus course: The Future of Europe. This extracurricular online course offers students the opportunity to collaborate with master's students across university partners in Europe to critically examine European policy challenges. This innovative online course is designed and taught jointly by a team of professors from various CIVICA universities. 

CIVICA is the European University of Social Sciences, representing an alliance of ten leading European universities focusing on social sciences, humanities, business management, and public policy. 

The Future of Europe - Autumn Semester 

This course explores the major challenges facing the future of Europe with particular emphasis on globalisation, democracy, innovation and digitalisation, climate change and the green transition as well as the dynamics characterising European Union policy responses in times of crisis.

How does the course work?

The course will be delivered synchronously across all the campuses of the CIVICA consortium as a series of live online lectures and a policy paper training camp. Recordings will be available for students who need flexibility. 

In addition to the lecture series, students will work in cross-country project teams to complete a final capstone project, supported by faculty across the alliance. 

Students who succuessfully complete the course will receive a certificate from the CIVICA Secretariat. Additionally, high-scoring capstone projects will be nominated for the Boroli Prize, whereby winners are invited to attend an in-person prizegiving ceremony at Bocconi University in Milan.

To apply for to the CIVICA Multi-campus Course, you must: 

  • Complete the online application form below by Sunday 14th September
  • Be a postgraduate student studying any discipline at LSE
  • Be prepared to complete and participate in all of the CIVICA Multi-campus Course content/tasks

Applications will close on Sunday 14th September. 

As LSE's academic year starts  later than some other European universities, LSE students will access a recording of the introductory sessions and can join live sessions from the Wednesday 24th September onwards.
