LSE postgraduate students are warmly invited to apply to take part in the CIVICA European University alliance extracurricular online course 'The Road to the Green Transition'.
Applications are open from 5th - 21st January 2026.
About the CIVICA Multicampus Course 'The Road to the Green Transition'
This extracurricular course critically explores the main policy challenges in achieving ‘net zero’ greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, as called for in the Paris Agreement. Special emphasis will be placed on the role of economic policy, the role of the private sector, and the multi-level politics behind the green transition. The course is designed and taught jointly by CIVICA professors. On top of lectures, students work in teams across countries and disciplines, with the aim of completing a final capstone project assignment related to climate policy challenges.
Working in teams of 4-5 students from across CIVICA institutions, teams will prepare a 45-minute podcast on the challenges of of green transition issues covered in the course and highlight policy options to overcome them.
This is an extracurricular course opportunity for LSE postgraduate students only. We encourage students with an interest in climate change, climate policy and the green transition to apply. You are welcome to apply for this course even if your degree programme does not directly correspond to the topics covered.
