European Student Assembly Call for 2026

Applications Open

What is the European Student Assembly?

The European Student Assembly (ESA) is a flagship project designed to bring together approximately 230 students from across Europe each year. Students debate issues that are central to Europe, draft policy recommendations on the future of Europe and advocate for their proposals amongst stakeholders and decision-makers.

From January to April 2026, selected students will work remotely with other members of the same panel to deepen their understanding of a chosen topic and draft policy recommendations. Students will then come together for an in-person meeting in Strasbourg, from the 22nd - 24th April 2026, on the premises of the European Parliament.

This is a fantastic opportunity for students to represent LSE at an international setting, and to develop their policy-making, advocating and community-building skills.

What is included?

The selected LSE student will have their travel costs from London to Strasbourg covered by LSE's CIVICA team. Meals and accommodation at a youth hostel will be provided by the ESA.

How to apply:

Applications are open to LSE students from any field of study who are enrolled between the 2nd year of their bachelor's program and PhD level, are no older than 30 years, and are registered for the 2025–2026 academic year at a university that is part of a European University Alliance. The selection process will be conducted jointly by the ESA Selection Committee and the European University Alliances.

Students who are keen to apply should also consult the European Student Assembly 2026 Handbook for further information.

The application deadline is 2nd November 2025.
