CIVICA's annual Presidents Committee Meeting took place on 11th-12th June on SGH's campus in Warsaw. It brought together the alliance's university leaders to reflect on the current activities and plan future initiatives and developments.
Following the Paris Dialogue on the Future of Higher Education and the Global Forum in Madrid attendees discussed strategic priorities and the importance of collaborative initiatives building on the alliance's 72,000 students and 13,000 faculty members.
Our President Prof Larry Kramer, Prof Emma McCoy, Vice-President and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education), and Prof Susana Mourato, Vice-President and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Research) represented the School.
One of the important projects discussed was the new multidisciplinary research hubs established to support teams across CIVICA institutions to undertake innovative and impactful research projects. The intention is to create opportunity for faculty teams to work together for a longer period of time with the goal to apply for larger grants (such as Horizon, ERC, national funding) and build longer-term cooperation.
Applications are now open so if you want to submit a project involving at least four CIVICA universities and receive seed funding for 18 months to build your team, start research, and develop a plan for securing external grants, check all details of the call for proposals here.
