European Hub: Lisbon, Portugal

Where founders build globally impactful startups.

With markets and trends constantly changing it feels like now more than ever is the right time to be taking a leap to an up-and-coming startup eco system to scale a venture. This excites me because it gives entrepreneurs access to networks in both the U.K., Portugal, and beyond!

Why Lisbon?

Europe’s sunniest capital, Lisbon has put itself on the global entrepreneurship stage for international companies and startups alike. The startup scene in Portugal is up-and-coming, growing rapidly each year, and soon to become the startup capital of Southern Europe with enterprises including: Talkdesk, Landing.jobs and Unbabel, among many others calling Lisbon home.

On the radar of big corporations who are looking to open an office abroad and entrepreneurs aiming to start a project, Lisbon, and the Portuguese government, offer a helping hand to settle, start or continue a project or company in its country.

Accommodation and Community

We see a great deal of programme value stemming from the meaningful connections you make amongst the cohort. Working and living alongside other ambitious, driven individuals provides an opportunity to excel within your own field, as well as, an opportunity to create and innovate together.

The Live Lisbon programme includes a room in one of our startups houses. This furnished accommodation, with regular cleaners and necessary amenities, will have a comfortable space to work. This home offers a supportive community of ambitious and likeminded entrepreneurs.

Through shared experiences, we hope our members connect to help one another problem solve, share challenges, and most importantly give feedback on each each others work. We will also encourage members to share key learnings within the community through peer to peer learning.

You should be working towards building a startup or working on an entrepreneurial venture that is less than two-years old. Your work should be making the world a better place, preferably in alignment with the UNSDGs.

In the last week of August we plan to take a welcome trip to Madeira which has recently launch the digital nomad island initiative. We will be staying in Ponta do Sol, Nomad Village, with free working space, events, access to the community and all of its natural beauty. A picturesque village that gathers history, culture, gastronomy & community.

This week long event will be filled with team building sessions as we explore the island, learn more about each others work and of course collaborate on some amazing projects.

My younger self wouldn’t have listened to any advice— but if I could talk to her I’d say it’s harder than you think. I’d say ‘Yes, this is tough, but it gets tougher. You don’t know what you don’t know, but you’re learning those things. Keep going. Wade through the darkness. Surround yourself with people further along the journey who can offer guidance and get off Tinder.
