2. Status of Committee
2.1 Sub-Committee of the School Management Committee.
3. Responsibilities delegated to the ASRC by the School Management Committee.
3.1 To determine the award of contribution pay – additional increments and non-recurrent awards – for Academic Staff (both NAC and pre-NAC), research staff (bands 6 upwards, both NRSC and non-NRSC), policy staff, education career track staff, LSE Fellows, course tutors, Guest Teachers, and Graduate Teaching Assistants, Senior Lecturers of Practice and Professors of Practice in the context of School strategy regarding pay and remuneration and prevailing financial conditions.
3.2 To consider and approve recommendations made by any subcommittee that may be created by the ASRC.
3.3 The provision of advice to the Human Resources Management Board (and where appropriate to the Remuneration Committee) on significant issues affecting pay and remuneration policy for Academic Staff (both NAC and pre-NAC), teaching-only staff and LSE Fellows and Research Staff (Bands 6 upwards, both NRSC and non-NRSC).
3.4 To deal with such other remuneration and pay matters as may be referred to it by the Remuneration Committee and the Human Resources Management Board.
3.5 The determinations of the ASRC will be based in a large degree on the recommendations of Heads of Department, Research Centre Directors and Institute Directors about individual members of staff who have demonstrated sustained excellent performance or outstanding contributions beyond the normal requirement of roles; in the relevant areas of Education, Research and Citizenship. Heads of Departments may be advised by the Departmental Evaluation Committees. In making contribution pay recommendations Heads of Departments, Research Centre Directors and Institute Directors will also take into account personal circumstances, were relevant, and can also take into account salary relativities.
3.6 The ASRC is empowered to agree the allocation of available resources for awards to staff noted in point 3.1 within the allocation from School funds agreed by the Finance and Estates Committee for this purpose, and taking into account the School's overall financial position and projected expenditure.
4. Arrangements for the Committee to report to the Human Resources Management Board on the exercise of its delegated authority
4.1 The ASRC shall make an annual report to the Human Resources Management Board on its determinations in respect of contribution awards and on any significant issues concerning pay and remuneration policy for staff noted in point 3.1.
4.2 The Committee shall submit additional reports to meetings of the Human Resources Management Board on ongoing issues and/or as required by the Human Resources Management Board. Similarly, it may submit additional reports to the Remuneration Committee.

6.1 An annual meeting in the Summer Term of each session.
