HR Fifth Floor Lift

Out of Service, 10th July to 8th September 2017

Access can be gained via the main entrance to the Library

Due to refurbishment works, lift access to the Human Resources Division on the 5th floor of the Lionel Robbins building will be not be available.

The refurbishment will take place with effect from Monday 10th July until Friday 8th September 2017.

During this period, you can gain access via the main entrance of the Library. You will need to enter through the turnstiles with your LSE staff card and take the lift, which can be found a few metres forward to the right-hand side of the turnstiles, to the fourth floor.

Upon exiting at the fourth floor, you will need to follow the signs to the exit door, which can be found by following the floor round to the left. You will then see the door in the far-right corner, next to the sign for the PhD Academy. Upon walking through this door, there will then be signs to guide you to the stairwell which will take you to the fifth floor.

The route will bring you to the HR Division at the usual reception area.

Disability access

If you are unable to access HR via the stairs, a member of HR staff will be able to meet with you in the Library Services’ LSE Life.

LSE Life is located on the ground floor of the Library. A member of Library Services staff will be able to direct you to the location where you should then introduce yourself to colleagues at the LSE Life reception desk.

LSE Life are open between 10am and 6pm (Monday to Friday).

New starters

As a new starter, you are required to come to HR on your first day to provide proof of your Right to Work in the UK. In order to ensure that you are able to navigate your way to reception with ease, you should come to HR with your line manager via the route stipulated above.

This year’s new starter surgery will go ahead as planned and will be available to all new employees starting at the School on 1 September 2017 or shortly thereafter.

The surgery will be held in an external location - details of which will follow.

Other HR meetings

In order to create as little disruption as possible during this period, HR will aim to host meetings elsewhere in the school where possible.

If you require to meet your HR Adviser for a maternity meeting, your HR Adviser will arrange to come to visit you at a location of your choice for the duration of the works.

An access card for external visitors can be collected from the main desk at the Library. if you are bringing an external visitor, you should contact HR in advance so that the card can be issued.

Should you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact Emma Bennett directly.
