The School has a formal joint recognition and procedural agreement in place with the Universities and Colleges Union (UCU), UNISON and Unite. This agreement sets out how the School formally works with its trade unions and the assistance the School provides to enable them to carry out their official duties within the LSE. In terms of representing staff on matters of pay and conditions of service, UCU is recognised as the body representing academic, research and support staff in roles at bands 6 to 9 and UNISON and Unite represent professional support staff in roles at bands 1 to 5.
