Data Sources

LSE does not yet have a Data Platform or Data Warehouse. Planning Division is working with DTS to commission work to establish the requirements for this functionality to submit a business case to Business Portfolio Board.

In the interim Planning Division works with DTS and other areas of the School to produce curated data sources which can be used to enhance the School’s knowledge in key areas.

Types of data source

Some data used by Planning Division are stored as a Tableau Server data sources.
This makes it easier to refresh all dashboards connected to a data source and manage access to data.

These are also maintained as Alteryx databases so that they can be used for further analysis. We also make use of bespoke and ad hoc data as required.
