How to log on to the LSE Network

You must activate your IT account before you can log on to the LSE network.

Please remember: Your network password is your only protection against other users logging on to the network with your username and accessing the files and documents on your network file space (H: space) as well as your email. Please keep your password safe and secure.

Getting started

  1. Choose a free computer. Press any key, or move the computer mouse, to display the Welcome to Windows dialog box

Note: if the Welcome to Windows dialog box does not appear, press the power button to turn the PC on.

    Note
: if the previous user is still logged on, please find another computer. If the computer appears to be faulty, please take a note of the PC name and location and report it to IMT on extension 5000.
  2. Press the [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [Delete] keys on your keyboard.
  3. You will see a Conditions of Use message. When you have read and understood this, click OK.
  4. Enter the username and password assigned to you when you activated your IT account by completing the self-registration process.
  5. Press the [Enter] key on your keyboard or click on the OK button.
  6. Note: During the logon process, two windows with black backgrounds are displayed on the screen which will close automatically. DO NOT click in these windows or try to close them - if you do, you may not be able to access your email or other network facilities. Wait for these windows to close before continuing.
  7. After a few moments, log on is completed and the Windows desktop is displayed. You now have access to the LSE network.
