eduroam is a free Wi-Fi network for staff and students which is available throught the LSE campus and in halls of residence buildings.
It is also available at participating higher education institutions across the world. It provides researchers, teachers and students network access when visiting an institution other than their own.
Users are authenticated with credentials from their home institution, regardless of the location of the eduroam access point.
Connecting to eduroam
You will need to:
- Enable wi-fi on your device. Scan for networks and choose eduroam
- When prompted, enter the following information: Username: Your LSE email address, e.g. j.bloggs@lse.ac.uk | Password: Your LSE IT account password
Some Android devices require future information to connect to eduroam. If required us the following settings:
EAP method: PEAP
Phase-2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
CA certificate: use system certificates
Domain: lse.ac.uk
Identity: your LSE email address
Anonymous identity: [leave blank]
Password: your LSE IT account password
Visitors from other Higher Education Institutions (HEI)
If you are visiting LSE from another HEI, you can connect to eduroam using your regular credentials from your home institution. A list of participating institutions is available via the eduroam website: https://eduroam.org/where/.

LSE Events, Conferences and Contractors
If you are running an LSE event, conference or have a contractor who requires network access, you can request eduroam visitor access (EVA). For more information or to request EVA, please contact Tech Support.
Troubleshooting
If you have changed the password for your LSE IT account, you will need to "forget" the eduroam network on your device and connect with your new credentials. Please see the guides below:
- Go to Settings > Wi-Fi
- Tap next to the Wi-Fi network that you want your device to forget
- Tap "Forget This Network", then tap "Forget to Confirm"
Settings > Internet > Touch and hold on network name > Tap "Forget network"
- Select the W-Fi symbol along the top menu bar and click on "Open Network Preferences" at the bottom of the drop-down menu
- Click on Wi-Fi in the menu on the left and click "Advanced" located at the bottom right of the pop-up window
- Select eduroam and click the minus sign. Click "OK"
- At the top right-hand corner, click on "Turn Wi-Fi off" and click on "Apply". Click on "Turn Wi-Fi on"
- Restart the MacBook and re-attempt connection
- Click the network icon on the lower right corner of your screen
- Right-click on eduroam and select "Forget"
