Free Microsoft Office 365 for staff and students
All staff and students are eligible for free copies of Microsoft Office software on their personal computers and devices. You can download Office 365 onto 5 desktops (PC or Mac) and five mobile devices.
Office 365 includes the latest versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, OneNote, Lync and Access.
Access to the full Microsoft Office suite of software is available for the duration of your time at LSE. Office 365 functionality will be limited upon leaving the School.

Microsoft discounts for staff and students
We recommend that LSE staff and students download the free version of Office 365, but you can purchase Microsoft Office software at a discounted rate should you wish to do so. Microsoft offers reduced rates for both students and staff.

IMPORTANT. PLEASE READ THIS SECTION BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH YOUR PURCHASE.
Under the Microsoft Staff Home Use Program, LSE staff can purchase a Windows operating system upgrade, Visio, and Project to install and use on their home computer. These are electronic licenses only.
Staff who choose to purchase software under the Microsoft Home Use Program must uninstall the software from their computer if they leave LSE's employment or if LSE decides not to renew its Microsoft Campus Agreement.
Staff who wish to purchase a licensed copy of Microsoft software that is not dependent on them being employed by LSE should purchase from Microsoft or a Microsoft authorised education reseller.
Buying Microsoft software under the Microsoft Home Use Programme
- Navigate to http://lse.ac.onthehub.com
- Select 'Sign In' from the top right of screen and log in using your LSE Username and Password.
- Purchase the software you would like using your credit or debit card.
Please note: All software purchase requests using LSE funds must go through the IT Service Desk.
