DTS is implementing multi-factor authentication (MFA) for FileDrop, filedrop.lse.ac.uk, LSE's service for securely sharing large files up to 39 gigabytes. This will be implemented next week, Monday 22nd May 9AM BST.

As you know, MFA has been switched on for other LSE systems like Outlook as an additional layer of protection toprotect our networks. There are existing protections in place for FileDrop – for example, multiple failed login attempts will be blocked. Enabling MFA will strengthen your FileDrop account’s protection against brute force attacks. It will also help defend against attempts to abuse FileDrop by compromised LSE accounts.

Please login to filedrop.lse.ac.uk after Monday 22nd May 9AM BST and follow the prompts to set up MFA using the Microsoft Authenticator App on your phone. This will only take a few minutes of your time.

Thanks for your time. Please email tech.support@lse.ac.uk if you have any questions.
