Every year is different, with a different student in the hall, coming from different places all over the world with each student unique in their different way.

Thank you for nominating me. I have been in the LSE catering department for over 11 years. Apart from supervising the daily activities ensuring that the whole operation runs smoothly one thing I enjoy is to make sure that the student settles well in their new environment as most of them are coming from a far place some are leaving the comfort of their home for the first time and some it’s their first time of been to London.

Every year is different, with a different student in the hall, coming from different places all over the world with each student unique in their different way. They are all clever and I always enjoy interacting with them which I think is one of the key reasons that keep me going.

Some of the most enjoyable parts is when student come back with their parent to see me and said thank you for taking care of their son or daughter and student will introduce me to their parent as their Passfield Mama.  Sometimes a student will come back to invite me for their graduations, birthdays, and  wedding,  I remember one of the old students called me one day to inform me that  her boyfriend just proposed to her, some will call to tell me they are passing by if they can come and say hello to me, most are so lovely and make me laugh. And there is a form of attachment it’s just like a generation that forms a family tree with each year having a different family.
