6. Monitoring impact

Our work in monitoring impact:

  • Monitoring and collecting feedback on all LGBTQ+ relevant trainings and policies, through the LGBTQ+ Steering Group.
  • Launched the new 'Report and Support' Tool in 2024, with an improved case management system and analytical reporting.
  • Created a forum with other universities in 2023, for external benchmarking; and regularly leads meetings of the forum to share best practice.
  • Created an External Advisory Board with sector-leading professionals to advise and guide the School on EDI matters.
  • Developing an EDI strategy and implementation framework with defined metrics and targets, including coverage of LGBTQ+ student and staff experience and data disclosure.

Outcomes and impact:

  • All policies and trainings related to LGBTQ+ inclusion have gone through a feedback mechanism with the community.
  • Improvement of case management and data collection/analysis.
  • Improved communication and support for staff and students who report cases to the School.
  • Ensuring on an ongoing basis that LSE meets best practice in the HE sector for LGBTQ+ inclusion and the sharing of ideas and initiatives across the sector.
  • Improved access to external guidance and accountability via the benchmarking forum.
