LSE Power Conference 2021

Empowered for Transitions

Tuesday 15 June 2021 - Half day, 10.30am - 2.00pm via Zoom

We're excited to announce that our annual Power conference will be taking place (virtually) on Tuesday 15th June, 10.30am to 2.00pm.

The theme of the conference is: Empowered for Transitions.

2021 looks to be a year of transitions. While some people are hoping for a quick return to ‘normal,’ many of us are looking to take advantage of some of the changes we saw through remote working and creating a new ideal of work and career.

This year’s virtual conference will cover how we can best prepare for these transitions, through our personal goals, working style and self-care.

11:00 - 11:45     Hybrid/Blended Working: Overcoming hurdles and getting the most out of new way of working

BBC research of 50 of the biggest companies in the UK shows that 43 of them expect to have the majority of the workforce working at least some of the week from home. Where we used to need some special dispensation for working from home, there has been an forced major mindset change now that organisations see that WFH and WFO (Working from Office) both have their benefits.

This workshop will outline those benefits and give you ideas of how to make the best use of the hybrid working expectations for yourself and working in your team.

12:00 - 12:45     Building Your Brand

At one point, there was such a thing as separation between your work life and your social life. For many professionals, this is no longer true. This is why more and more women are choosing to build a personal brand.  Building your brand starts with you, it’s a conscious decision – learn to recognise your value, maximise your strengths and leverage your brand to pursue your life goals.
