Carbon Literacy is defined as “An awareness of the carbon costs and impacts of everyday activities, and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions, on an individual, community and organisational basis.”
Carbon Literacy Training is a training course that provides you with a certified, practical baseline in climate science, actionable steps to reduce emissions, and a recognised qualification for your CV through The Carbon Literacy Project (CLP).
Carbon Literacy certification is valued by employers across all sectors. It demonstrates environmental awareness, social responsibility, and essential green skills – qualities that are core to all roles. Carbon Literate individuals have an instinctive understanding of the carbon impacts of everyday actions, enabling them to make better-informed, low-carbon choices both personally and professionally.
The training is delivered over two half-days and courses are delivered once a term. To receive a certificate, participants must submit a pledge, which is then sent to CLP for review.
