LSE and the SU bring you Green Week, a week of events and activities that spark conversation and action around sustainability (for staff and students!)

The week features a mix of events, activities, and talks! Jump in, try something new and spark a conversation along the way. Some events need to be booked in advance and spaces fill up fast, so be sure to reserve your place.

All week

A Beaver's Tale: an exhibiton on 130 years of campus, culture and conservation sorrounding LSE's favourite animal! Atrium gallery, open to all (More info here)

Monday 23 March

Reclaimed Leather Crafting: Learn how to make a leather item of your choice! Brian will teach you how to make a glasses case, purse or earbuds case, you can take home! The session costs £5, with all materials, leather and patterns provided - SAL.B.07, 1-2PM (Email B.V.Williams@lse.ac.uk to book)

Dr Bike Maintenance: Have your bike looked at for free by two mechanics, learn about bike safety from local officers and receive free bike swag - Outside LRB, 12-2PM (no booking required, just turn up!)

Tuesday 24 March

LSE Beehive VisitWear beekeeping suits and join our resident beekeeper for a lunch time session all about our urban beehives - Level 8 Connaught House, 12-1PM (Reserve your place)

Alterist Upcycled Fashion Pop-up Market with LSE Charity Shopget your clothes upcycled in real time by local artists; they'll paint, pierce, embroider your clothes infront of you. LSE Charity shop will be selling clothes on rack or bring some from home - Great Hall Marshall Building, 1-4PM, no need to book, just turn up! (More info here

Beavers & Biodiversity: Come along to a talk with Sean McCormack, a vet and wildlife conservationist who founded the Ealing Beaver Project, which is reintroducing beavers into London (As seen on Sir David Attenborough’s documentary ‘Wild London!) - LRB R01, 4-5pm (info coming soon)

Archives of Activism: Exploring Environmental Justice with Black Environment Network (BEN), Women's Environmental Network (WEN) & Special Guests - Cheng Kin Ku Building, 6 – 7:30pm (Reserve your place)

Creating a Career in Sustainable Startups: Interested in building a career in climate and sustainability focused businesses? Join this panel discussion with three LSE alumni founders who are turning climate ambition into real world impact - LSE GenDen, 6 - 7:30pm (Reserve your place)

Turn Plastic into Fabric - Keychain edition: Join this session with Looply to turn your plastic shopping bags into fabric, so you can make a cute personalised keychain - tickets £5, 4-5:30PM (Book your place)

Friday 27 March 

Big Finale! The Waste Hackathon: design a behavioural change media campaign for LSE Sustainability team and gain practical experience, prizes, free food, a LinkedIn certificate and the chance to see your campaign shown across LSE campus - Bankside House Auditorium, 10AM-5PM (Reserve your place) (students only)
