Bocconi University

Università Bocconi was established in Milan in 1902 with a generous endowment from Ferdinando Bocconi, a wealthy merchant. It was the first-ever Italian university to grant a degree in economics. Today, it is a research university of international standing in business, economics, and law with over 15 000 students.

Bocconi AerialBocconi is located in the financial, industrial and commercial center of Italy, and was founded with the aim of researching ways to make business and society work better for all. LSE's motto “Rerum cognoscere causas” which translates as “to understand the causes of things”, encapsulates LSE’s aim to challenge ways of thinking and seek transformation for the betterment of society.

LSE and Bocconi University both have an international character and outlook in their research and teaching and in their student and staff populations; and both are involved in the local and international arenas.

Collaboration between LSE and Bocconi has developed over last five years, and includes a number of activities. To learn about our engagement with Bocconi University, have a read through the various sections below.
