CIVICA Short Visits Scheme: Faculty and Postdocs Selected for the Inaugural Round
Twenty-six professors and postdoctoral researchers have been selected to take part in the inaugural round of CIVICA Faculty Short Visits starting this September.
The programme provides faculty and postdoctoral researchers across CIVICA with the opportunity to visit other member institutions. This initiative aims to foster collaborative activities, accelerate research advancements, strengthen existing partnerships, and forge new connections.
Candidates submitted comprehensive proposals outlining the purpose and goals of their intended visits. The proposed activities encompass a wide range of academic initiatives, including delivering research talks, organising or participating in workshops and seminars for PhD researchers, networking with other faculty members, and engaging in discussions regarding potential joint research projects. The selection committee, composed by vice-presidents for research and senior faculty members across the alliance, evaluated the applications based on the scientific value of the proposal and the relevance of the mobility to their ongoing research endeavors.
The selected participants will spend between 2 and 5 days at one of the ten CIVICA universities. The inaugural round of CIVICA Faculty Short Visits is scheduled to take place between September and December 2023. During these visits, participants will engage in a rich blend of collaborative activities, including workshops, talks, conferences, and valuable knowledge exchanges.
The Department of Government will be welcoming Prof. Elias Dinas from the European University Institute, while Dr Milli Lake and Prof. Mathijs Pelkmans will be visiting Hertie School and CEU. Congratulations to all those selected!
