Professor Emma McCoy, Vice President and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) at LSE attended the sixth Annual U7+ Presidential Summit hosted at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy, where she also met colleagues from the Bocconi University to discuss existing and future collaboration between the two institutions. Bocconi University and LSE are members of the CIVICA and U7+ alliances.

The U7+ Presidential summit is the annual meeting of the U7+ Alliance, the first coalition of university presidents from Europe, Asia, North America, South America, Africa and Australia dedicated to defining concrete, collective actions universities can take to address global challenges, in coordination with government leaders in G7 countries and beyond.
The 2024 iteration of the summit focused on Inclusive Education for Inclusive Societies and included sessions on Global Access to Higher Education, Climate Change and Sustainability and Human-Centered AI. Attended by more than 80 university leaders from 18 countries, the annual meeting sets new direction for the alliance engagement for the next year. It was also during the meeting the host of the next Summit, the University of Ottawa, was announced. U7+ Alliance members are committed to work within their own institutions and across institutions to support access to higher education at all phases of the academic pipeline from admission to graduation, including fostering an inclusive and supportive culture on our campuses where all students, faculty, and staff can flourish.
During her visit to Bocconi University, Professor McCoy also met a group of double degree students enrolled on LSE-Bocconi MSc in European and International Public Policy and Politics. who are currently spending the first year at Bocconi before moving to London for their second year in 2024-25. On her last evening in Milan, she met with alumni representatives from the LSE Milan alumni group, sharing School updates and answered questions from the alumni.
