With over 70% of our alumni entrepreneurs building ventures beyond the UK, we’re connecting founders and innovators worldwide through our International Chapter Programme. From Better World Summits to Women Founder Retreats, innovator socials and more, we’re co-creating opportunities for LSE’s entrepreneurial community to thrive.
What are International Chapters?
Launched in 2021, our Chapters bring together 19000 LSE alumni founders, ecosystem operators, and partners across the world. Each Chapter is shaped by three key ingredients:
- A thriving group of alumni entrepreneurs and ecosystem leaders
- A developed or emerging local innovation scene
- Community partners supporting events, programmes, and sponsorship
Every Chapter is supported by International Ambassadors - alumni on the ground who represent Generate, connect us with local partners, and keep the LSE entrepreneurial spirit alive, from Mumbai to Manhattan, Lisbon to Lagos.
How we support the global community
Chapters deliver in-person events and connect members to a wide range of online support including mentoring, Startup School, and specialist clinics. We also keep the community connected through our dedicated WhatsApp groups and a bi-monthly newsletter.
Collaboration at the heart
Our programmes are co-created with alumni leaders and corporate partners embedded in their local ecosystems.
As Berlin Chapter leads Nils Brestrich and Duke Tam put it:
“It’s an incredible opportunity to bring LSE’s entrepreneurial spirit to one of Europe’s most exciting innovation hubs. Berlin is already home to several unicorns founded by LSE alumni, and it’s inspiring to connect those changemakers shaping what’s next.”
Driving social innovation
We are committed to wider ecosystem impact through our Social Innovation engagement programmes, led by Dr. Paroma Bhattacharya. Her work blends academic rigour with real-world impact, translating research into practical, accessible knowledge that empowers underrepresented groups around the globe.
She has designed and delivered multidisciplinary action research and knowledge exchange projects, benefiting hundreds of individuals, built on principles of mutual exchange and shared ownership.
Dr. Bhattacharya’s initiatives also foster interdisciplinary partnerships with diverse organisations across the world - ranging from funders like the British Council, British Academy, and Royal Academy of Engineering, to academic partners such as the University of Sierra Leone, University of Southern California and ATLAS SkillTech University, and industry collaborators like UNLEASH, EDHE South Africa, and Women On Boards CIC®.
