Why is Putting Students 1st so important?

Directly or indirectly, the work you do on a daily basis impacts the student experience.

“I am sure you know that improving the student experience is the top priority for me, my colleagues on the School Management Committee and for all of us working at LSE. We have listened carefully to students through the feedback from surveys and various meetings held throughout the School and are making progress in a number of areas.”

Minouche Shafik, LSE’s Director.

For the 12,000 students who live, learn and socialise at LSE, the student experience is more than lectures, societies and halls. Experiences at the School are based on what it feels like to be part of LSE’s unique community and directly or indirectly, the work we all do on a daily basis impacts students’ experiences.

That’s why Putting Students First is about how we work together to create a sense of pride in choosing LSE – not just for students, but for all teaching, research and professional service staff who contribute to our unique School community.

It has been widely acknowledged by students that they can feel and see the difference from the changes we are making. It is therefore essential that we build on this positive start and continue to work together to support cultural change that has real benefits for all.
