LSE is looking to the future. The LSE 2030 strategy builds on our rich traditions with a new vision, Education for Global Impact, which focuses on providing a consistently excellent student experience for all students across the School, at every level of study.

We are looking for a Director of LSE Library and Librarian of the British Library of Political & Economic Science to provide visionary and dynamic leadership to deploy the collections, spaces and professional expertise of the Library towards the LSE 2030 goals: Educate for Global Impact; Research for the World; and LSE for Everyone.  By combining digital innovation with the traditional values of academic librarianship the Director will ensure the Library continues to forge its role as one of the most outstanding social sciences libraries in the world, and a unique asset for LSE.

You will be accountable to the Pro-Director Research, Professor Susana Mourato, and also work closely with LSE’s Chief Operating Officer, Dr Andrew Young.  You will bring a record of initiative and innovation, excellence and achievement in the exercise of leadership and management of library/information services and be an outstanding communicator with a successful track record in building successful partnerships and relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders that will ensure LSE Library continues its leading-edge competitiveness.
