LSE is not only one of the best universities in the world, but also one of the most generous as regards offering scholarships.
LSE makes available over £12 million annually in financial support to both UK and overseas students, and I am a beneficiary of one of these numerous scholarships.
The poor socio-economic conditions in developing countries in Africa have made good education a luxury only the rich can afford. As the sixth child of a civil-servant-father and a janitor-mother living in Lagos, Nigeria, it was as if my fate had been decided – qualitative education was out of my reach.

Living and working in rural communities had increased my interest in alleviating the living standard of people in Africa. I wanted to understand the root causes of the prevalent poverty and underdevelopment and ways of mitigating them.
LSE offered me a full scholarship in a master’s degree programme in African Development, investing in my dream and bringing it to fruition.
Now, I am studying in a university campus at the very heart of London's metropolis. I'm enjoying diving into academic rigours, making friends and meeting other students from different parts of the world!
