Professional services staff grading process

a competency based system to evaluate the relative breadth and complexity of a role

HERA (Higher Education Role Analysis) is the system used by the school to evaluate roles during the recruitment and promotion of professional services staff.

Jobs are assessed using a scoring system that explores examples, supported by evidence, of the duties and responsibilities involved. A total points score is then collated to assess the relative value of each role is consistent and equitable. This figure can then be used to assign roles to the appropriate band in the School’s salary structure.
