What does it mean to be part of LSE’s School community?
University life may present ethical challenges which can be difficult to plan for, as we encounter unexpected situations. Making the right ethical choices helps to ensure we create a respectful environment for everyone and get the most out of our LSE experience.
The School’s Ethics Code sets out these six ethics principles:
- Responsibility and Accountability: We take responsibility for our actions and decisions, raising concerns about anything that’s not right.
- Integrity: We’re honest and truthful, acting within the law.
- Intellectual Freedom: We protect freedom of expression and free speech.
- Equality of Respect and Opportunity: We treat all with dignity and respect.
- Collegiality: We’re inclusive, we work together, support each other and behave appropriately.
- Sustainability: We minimise any negative impact on the natural and built environment.
Our student animation is designed to explore the Ethics Code in relation to the experience of students here at the School.
Making ethical decisions now and doing the right thing will help us to build our LSE community for everyone and make LSE a great place to live, work and study.
