Black History Month Staff Showcase 2020

We are engrained in the fabric and I would love to see our contributions thoroughly unearthed; not just for a designated month, season or festival that passes by to be forgotten.

Representation matters.

I believe one of the fundamental ways to break down systemic prejudice and uplift the following generation is for our young to see us with a seat at the table - all the tables! The history of black people in the UK stretches centuries before Windrush, transatlantic slavery and the Tudors. We are engrained in the fabric and I would love to see our contributions thoroughly unearthed; not just for a designated month, season or festival that passes by to be forgotten.

In these shifting times, LSE is well placed to bring forth such beacons for our young to aspire; be it through world-class research, professional and academic staff formally employed at all levels within the School and the student body.
If you can't see yourself, it becomes much harder to find yourself. The everyday heroes we could make at LSE today may very well be the superheroes of those coming up tomorrow.
